Nancy Perry Sumerall is a native of Illinois and a graduate of
Illinois State University. As a student, she studied abroad in
Grenoble, France, and was later a Peace Corps Volunteer in Tunisia,
North Africa. She previously worked in retail buying and management.
After many moves, both in the states and abroad, while raising three
sons, she and her family have been settled in the Atlanta area since
1997.
From 1998 to 2004, she studied painting and drawing as a student of
Atlanta based artist and teacher Chery Baird. From 2004-2006, Nancy
was a student of Atlanta printmakers Stephanie Smith and Kathy
Garrou.
The artist is an Advanced Merit Member of the Atlanta Artists
Center, a founding member of the Atlanta Collage Society, and a
member of Perspectives 7, a group of emerging Atlanta artists.
Currently, she divides her time between Atlanta and Prague, Czech
Republic.
